 Vessel(tm)  Frequently Asked Questions
When I try to delete something I get an error message that says "Record cannot be deleted or changed because [a table] contains related records"
This is Vessel's method to prevent you from inadvertently deleting associated records.  For example, there might be maintenance records associated with an item.  If you were to delete the item then the maintenance records would be meaningless as they are not associated with any equipment item.  To delete the item, you must first delete the related records.  To do this, select the tab with the records, click on the line with the record, and right-click Delete Line.  Once all related records have been deleted, you may delete the desired item.

Does the latest Service Pack require prior service packs to be installed first?
No.  The latest service pack for your product includes all the prior service pack changes.

How do I upgrade Vessel(tm) to another configuration?
Vessel can be upgraded at any time without loss of your investment in data.  To upgrade Vessel you need to purchase a New Product Key and install it on your machine.  Product keys can be purchased on-line at our store.

Can I load my copy of Vessel on more than one machine?
Vessel is licensed on a per-seat basis.  However it may be loaded on two machines if both machines are under the control of one user.

Is Vessel backward compatible with Yacht 1.3/1.4 and prior versions of Vessel?
Yes.  There is a function in Vessel to allow older data to be imported into the current release of Vessel.

Can I get a CD version of Vessel?
Yes.  You may order a CD version online.  There is an added shipping and handling charge in addition to the product price.

I want to re-install the trial version due to availability of a later version or the need to start over.
Vessel setup installs the program files, sets up the Start-button, and makes several additions to the system registry.  These need to be removed prior to installing a newer version.  Normally, this removal can be done using Add/Remove Programs found in your Control Panel.  If this does not complete successfully you will need to do the removal manually.  For manual removal, follow the instructions found in this Technical Note
